Van Raay Paskal Farms had its date of incorporation as of October 2015. It is a result of the amalgamation of Cor Van Raay Farms and Paskal Cattle Company. Rick Paskal, the president has been in the agriculture business and related industries since 1976 while Cor Van Raay, the director has been in the agriculture business since 1964.
Van Raay Paskal Farms main business focus is the feeding of Western Canadian feeder cattle destined to slaughter at the processing facilitiy located at Brooks, Alberta. Van Raay Paskal Farms also ships slaughter steers and heifers to a processing plant located in the state of Utah. Van Raay Paskal Farms owns and operates seven feedlots, allowing us to feed up to 130,000 head. VRP Farms' main offices, truck and Roto-Mix shops are located in the town of Picture Butte Alberta. VRP Farms employs some of the finest technicians (management, veterinarians, and nutritionist) in the beef production area.
Van Raay Paskal Farms owns and farms over 19,000 acres of pivot irrigation land that we use to produce corn, barley and hay silage/roughage for our feedlot cattle. Our land is also used to apply manure to, as the crops that we grow require nutrients that are naturally available in the cattle manure. Van Raay Paskal Farms is aware of the environmental impact that our operations have on our communities and we always farm our land with a high regard for the sustainability of our land and the sustainability of the water courses that come into proximity of our operations.
